This Saturday 25th June, lucky winners of a English Heritage Father’s Day competition will spend a night at Kenilworth Castle, one of the largest castle ruins in England.

We spent a delightful day with gifted and talented youngsters in the gardens at Whitley Court, telling them stories of life upstairs and downstairs at the Court, inspiring them to create their own stories later at school.  An added bonus for me was that as a result of my recent eye surgery, I’m now able to see a lot more colours and the children delighted in helping me identify colours of flowers that I’d never seen before – absolute joy!

It never ceases to amaze us the creativity with which teachers use our services.  Yesterday saw us at Fibbersley Park School for their Curriculum Activities Day, teaching youngsters how to shoot a medieval longbow.  All of the youngsters had the opportunity to draw and shoot the bow and I must say the girls won hands down both in terms of accurance and strength!  If you're searching for a new exciting activity to bring to your school, give us a call.

Our presentations & lectures for the GCSE history masterclass at Pembroke College, Cambridge went down a storm last week.  From a quick flick through the evaluation forms, there were lots of "Excellents" and "Goods" with a couple of them adding their own category of "Epic" for our sessions!  This was a new venture for Pembroke College and hopefully on the success of this masterclass, there will be more to follow.  Of the subjects we covered, the first was the medieval period and...
